So it is very important for women to maintain good health. Doing Yoga postures can help Women to cope with health issues and help them develop the state of their body and mind.

One of the most common health conditions affecting Women is depression. If men thought that homemakers have no tensions and problems they are wrong. Yoga for Obesity and other Diseases and Conditions

A common problem noticed among women is that as they get married and get older the size of the waist also increases as a result of their not taking proper care of themselves, overeating, lack of interest in looks etc. Recently I met a cousin of mine and could not recognize her when she opened the door for me. She had become thrice her earlier size. Though I had never liked her size zero look in our college days and when she married her boyfriend of 5 years seeing her this way was a real shock to me. She now had 2 grow up children one son studying engineering and a daughter pursuing MBBS. When I said that she has become so fat that I almost did not recognize her she said that it is over 20 years now after her marriage and 2 grow up children now how is she suppose to look like 20 years earlier and whom does she need to impress now. I also noticed her eating all the leftovers as she did not want to waste the food. This is what happens with most women. Most of us become very careless about our appearance and most of us end up accumulating fat all around especially on the waist which usually results in increased health risks such as diabetes, high cholesterol and blood pressure. Practicing Yoga Postures can help tone and exercise the muscles of the body to eliminate excess fat and make one more flexible, active, healthy and stronger.

Yoga for Menstruation Problems and for Pregnant Women

Most women experience heavy pain or cramps at the time of menstruation or menstrual disorders like Premenstrual Syndrome also known as PMS which is characterized by uncomfortable mental and physical symptoms that can occur up to two weeks prior to the onset of Menstruation. Some of these are anxiety, depression, anger, confusion, forgetfulness, nausea, tenderness of breasts, migraine, changes in energy level, swelling of arms and legs, feeling bloated, back pain, difficulty in sleeping etc. Thankfully Yoga can help alleviate the pain that goes with Menstruation and also help with the other disorders related to menstruation. Some good yoga postures women can practice for relieving menstruation problems are Shalabhasana, Dhanurasana, Paschimotanasana, Ardha Matsyendrasana, Badha Konasana, Janusirasana, Bhadrasana, Pavana Muktasana, Naukasana, sukhasana, matsyasana, kapalabhati, bhujangasana and pavanamukthasana. However, it should be kept in mind that woman must avoid rigorous practice during her menses till the time it stops. It is best to relax at his point of time for which Savasana is specially recommended.

Most women also find it difficult to cope with the changes during menopause. Most of the above said asanas and postures like trikonasana, tadasana and padmasana can help make Menopause more bearable to women.

Yoga is also a blessing during pregnancy. Practicing breathing Techniques and Yoga Postures like Tadasana, Trikonasana, Virasana, Halasana etc can help you prepare your mind and body for the actual labor and birth as this helps you focus, to concentrate and keep you healthy. It also helps to keep body active and supple and minimize the common Pregnancy Symptoms like morning sickness and constipation.

Your hub contains valuable wealth of information. I just turned 40 and ever since i've been preparing for these anticipated menopause symptoms.

Don't want it catching me unawares. They often say that menopause can start very early as well from 40 years.

Thanks for your valuable resources, was very helpful to read.

Really good hub and information. A lot of people have belly fat caused by stress (when under stress the adrenal glands produce Cortisol aka hydrocortisone)
