Gemstones are normally worn as a remedy to negative planetary influences in the human body. When the gemstones are worn as astrological remedy, the stone should touch the body with the bottom of the gem stone setting open. Gemstones definitely do have a scientific base and that is why it is very popular as astrological remedy. If you have a look at my Gemstone articles about healing, astrological remedy etc you would know what i mean.

As far as i know there is no such restriction. But if thry are worn for astrological purpose you have to wear it on the specific fingers.

Hi, I am born on 19th June, 11:40am Saturday. Which stone should I wear. How much weight & in what metal/ which finger. One family astrologer says Ruby as stone, and my sign as Mesh, but as per general text on internet it says emarald & gemini. PLease clarify.
Hi, My Astrologer have advised me coral (right hand-Ring finger) and yellow sapphire (right hand-Index finger) which i am wearing. My numerologist has advised me cat's eye (Right hand-Ring finger) now. Rohit : As far as i know Catseye should be worn on the middle finger of either hand studded in silver or punchdhatu (a mixture of five metals: iron, silver, copper, gold, and zinc). But then your Astrologer might have a reason to suggest.

As per name the calculation comes = 6
As per date the calculation come = 1
As per month it is September (19, 1978) but in astrology it is MESH RASSHI.
Currently I wear diamond (without touching to skin in my left hand ring figure).
Some time I wears pear in gold in the right hand ring figure.
Also, I wanted to wear ruby J

Sumeer : That depends on you which one you want to choose. Put both the stones on a Table and the one who attracts your eye more should most probably suit you.
