Priyanka Chopra is one of the most beautiful actresses in the Indian film industry. Priyanka was born on 18th July 1982 at Jamshedpur in Bihar to Capt. Dr. Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra. Some of her nicknames are Sunshine, Mimi and Piggy Chops. She is also referred by the media as PeeCee which stands for her initials. Priyanka was romantically linked up with Shahid Kapoor, Harman Baweja and Shahrukh Khan.

Priyanka Chopra entered Bollywood after winning the Miss World title in the year 2000. Her first film was a Tamil film named Tamizhan in the year 2002. She made her Bollywood film debut with The Hero: Love Story of a Spy which was a box-office hit. She got the Stardust Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in the film and also was nominated for the Zee Cine Award Best Female Debut. Her second Bollywood film Andaaz was also commercial hit. Priyanka won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her role in the film. After that she appeared in appeared in many films like Aitraaz, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Krrish, Don: The Chase Begins Again, Fashion, Dostana, Kaminey, What's Your Raashee, 7 Khoon Maaf, Don 2 and Agneepath most of which were Bollywood hits and won her awards. She is the second woman (the first being Kajol Devgan) to win the Filmfare Best Villain Award. In Andaaz, Priyanka Chopra played the role of the gorgeous and fun-loving Jiya who falls for Raj Malhotra (played by Akshay Kumar). However, Raj is unable to forget his love Kajal (played by Lara Dutta) who is Jiya’s sister in law. Raj helps Kajal to recover from depression after she loses her husband in an accident and proposes to her. Andaaz was directed by Raj Kanwar and produced by Suneel Darshan.

Andaaz was a box office success. Priyanka Chopra won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut along with Lara Dutta for her performance in the movie. She was also nominated for the Star Screen Award Most Promising Newcomer – Female.

In Aitraaz, Priyanka Chopra played the role of Mrs. Sonia Roy, wife of Ranjit Roy (played by Amrish Puri) who the Chairman of a mobile company. Sonia’s ex-boyfriend Raj Malhotra (played by Akshay Kumar) is an employee of the company. Sonia tries to seduce Raj when he meets her at her home for some work. When he refuses, he accuses him of trying to rape her. However, Raj proves himself not guilty with the help of his lawyer friend Barrister Ram Chauthrani (played by Annu Kapoor)and wife Priya Malhotra (played by Kareena Kapoor).

Aitraaz was directed by Abbas Mustan and produced by Subhash Ghai. This movie was a moderate success at the box office. Priyanka Chopra won the Filmfare Best Villain Award and Star Screen Award for Best Villain for her performance in the movie. She was also nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In Fashion, Priyanka Chopra plays the role of model Meghna Mathur who pursues her dream of becoming a supermodel. She gets into a live in relationship with another struggling model Maanav (played by Arjan Bajwa) and later into an affair with Abhijit Sarin’s (played by Arbaaz Khan) who is the boss of a big modeling agency. Things go well for Meghna till she becomes pregnant with Abhijit's child and reveals about his extramarital affair to Abhijit's wife. Abhijit terminates Meghna's contract. Meghna becomes depressed and her downfall as a model starts. However, with the help of friends she once again regains her lost self confidence and finds success.

Fashion was a box office hit and won several awards. This movie also starred Kangana Ranaut, Mugdha Godse, Raj Babbar, Samir Soni, Ashwin Mushran, Rohit Roy and Kitu Gidwani. Priyanka won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the movie. She also was winner of the Filmfare and Star Screen Best Actress awards.

In Kaminey, Priyanka Chopra plays the role of a middle class Maharastrian girl called Sweety who is the sister of underworld don Sunil Shekhar Bhope (played by Amol Gupte). She is also the love interest of Guddu Sharma (played by Shahid Kapoor) and they get married when she becomes pregnant. However, they face problems because of her brother but is rescued by twin brother Charlie (also played by Shahid Kapoor).

Kaminey was directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. This film was a success at the box office. Priyanka Chopra won the Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Award for Best Actress for her performance in the movie. She was also nominated for the National Film and Filmfare Awards for Best Actress. Following the success of the movie, a sequel to the film is made which is in the pre-production stage. Priyanka would not be a part of the sequel while her ex boyfriend Shahid would play the role of one of Guddu's twin sons.

7 Khoon Maaf is based onRuskin Bond's short story Susanna's Seven Husbands. In this movie, Priyanka Chopra plays the role of a beautiful Anglo-Indian woman named Susanna Anna-Marie Johannes who kills her 6 husbands because of their flaws. After killing her sixth husband who attempts to kill her for her money, Susanna burns her house in an attempt to kill herself. However, she is saved by her faithful maid and her friend and forensic doctor Arun (played by Vivaan Shah, son of Naseeruddin Shah) declares her dead in the fire. He then tracks her down to a church where she finds refuge in spirituality by becoming a nun and accepting Jesus as her 7^th husband. The role of Susanna’s 6 husbands are played by Neil Nitin Mukesh, John Abraham, Irrfan Khan, Aleksandr Dyachenko, Annu Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah. This film also has Konkona Sen Sharma and Usha Uthup.

7 Khoon Maaf was directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Vishal Bhardwaj. This film was a moderate success at the box office. Priyanka Chopra won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for her role in the movie. She also was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Mujhse Shaadi Karogi is a 2004 romantic comedy. In Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Priyanka Chopra plays the role of Rani Singh who is the love interest of Sameer (played by Salman Khan) who is unlucky in love. Sunny aka Arun Khanna (played by Akshay Kumar) manages to create a lot of trouble between the two. Rani too falls in love with Sameer but do not express her love due to fear for her father Colonel Dugraj Singh (played by Amrish Puri). Mujhse Shaadi Karogi also has Amrita Arora, Satish Shah and Rajpal Yadav.

Mujhse Shaadi Karogi was a Bollywood hit and received numerous awards and nominations. Priyanka Chopra won the IIFA Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the movie.

In What's Your Raashee, Priyanka Chopra plays Priyanka Chopra plays 12 different characters depicting the twelve signs of the Zodiac. The names of her characters are Anjali, Sanjana , Kajal , Hansa, Rajni, Chandrika, Mallika, Nandini ,Pooja , Vishakha , Bhavna and Jhankhna. Yogesh Patel, a very successful young man with a high paying job in Chicago, decides to meet one girl each of the 12 zodiac signs before finalizing the girl for marriage. The film also stars Dilip Joshi, Darshan Jariwala, Anjan Srivastav, Manju Singh and Rajesh Vivek.

What's Your Raashee was directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Ashutosh Gowarikar. Though the performance of Priyanka in the movie was appreciated, the movie was a flop at the box office. Priyanka Chopra was nominated for the Star Screen Award for Best Actress for her performance in the movie.

Krrish is a 2006 Bollywood science fiction film. Krish starts where the super hit film Koi Mil Gaya ends. In Krish, Priyanka Chopra plays the role of Priya who works for a news channel in Singapore. She meets Krishna Mehra, a guy with superpowers while holidaying in India. She tricks Krishna to visit her in Singapore hoping to unveil his super powers. Krishna saves people when the circus tent catches fire by disguising himself as Krish – the superhero. This movie also stars Rekha, Naseeruddin Shah,Manini Mishra, Sharat Saxena and Archana Puran Singh.

Krrish was directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan. This movie was a blockbuster and won several awards. A sequel of this movie by name Krrish 3 is being made which stars Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut, Vivek Oberoi, Arif Zakaria, Shaurya Chauhan, Archana Puran Singh and Rekha.

Don 2 is the sequel to the 2006 hit film, Don: The Chase Begins Again. In Don 2, Priyanka Chopra plays the role of Interpol officer Roma who is on a mission to catch Don (played by Shahrukh Khan) in order to avenge her brother Ramesh's death. Don is betrayed by Vardhaan and Jabbar while they are in a mission to steal the printing plates from Deutsche Zentral Bank. Don manages to escape with the plates by his associate Sameer (played by Kunal Kapoor) calls the police and Don is captured.Don agrees to help the Police in freeing the hostages kept by Vardhaan and Jabbar on condition that all his crimes should be written off. Don goes back to the building along with Roma and team. They reach Vardhaan (Boman Irani) and Jabbar (Nawab Shah) who orders Roma to shoot Don. She refuses and gets shot because of her feelings for Don. Don defeats Vardhaan and Jabbar and frees the hostages. As Roma is taken to the ambulance, Don and Roma exchange one glance at each other.

Don 2 was directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. This movie also stars Lara Dutta, Om Puri, Sahil Shroff and Aly Khan. Priyanka learned martial arts for her role of Roma and is seen performing stunts in this film. Don 2 was a Super Hit in India and did well in overseas too. Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra won the Colors Star Screen Award for Favorite Onscreen Jodi for this film.

In Dostana, Priyanka plays the role of Neha Melwani. Sameer Kapoor (Abhishek Bachchan) and Kunal Chopra (John Abraham) pretend to be Gays to get an apartment for rent when the owner refuses to sublet it to them as her niece Neha will be staying in the apartment alone.Neha, Kunal and Sameer becomes good friends. Sameer and Kunal fall in love with Neha and are heartbroken when she starts dating Abhimanyu Singh (Bobby Deol) who is the editor in the company Neha is working. Despite of Sameer and Kunal’s efforts to sabotage the relationship, Neha and Abhimanyu fall in love. Sameer and Kunal manage to break their relationship and the couple part ways.

Dostana was produced by Tarun Mansukhani and directed by Siddharth Anand and Karan Johar. This movie also stars Kiron Kher and Boman Irani in important roles. Dostana was a success at the box office. Priyanka won the Stardust Star of the Year Award – Female for her performance in the movie.
