Namaste. Please excuse me for any discomfort in this extremely important correction.
Krishna is NOT an Avatar of Vishnu. Krishna is the source of all Avatars, such as Vishnu, Nrsimha, Rama, Matsya, Kurma, and so on. The Sanskrit terminology for it is "Avatari".
Srimad-Bhagavatam states "krsnas tu bhagavan svayam" or "Krishna is the Original Personaliy of Godhead, Bhagavan. Also Bhagavad Gita says "aham sarvasya prabhavo."
Please do not give up your Vedic culture, because such conclusions implies to me a misdirection on the understanding of the Vedic conclusions. The British mainly tried to destroy the concept of Guru and the Vedic culture. Search out a bona fide Guru in the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition and many eye-opening interpretations of all mantras will be revealed. Thank you for your research but please go deeper and you will find unending joy in your life.
