Procedure of Cleaning Rudraksha Beads
The Rudraksha Beads should be cleaned with utmost care. Wearing a Rudraksha while taking bath is said to be beneficial. These Beads are strong and have a life of thousands of years if they are well taken care of. They should be cleaned at least once in six months. How to clean rudraksh beads?
Regular usage can result in dirt and grime getting fixed in the pores of the beads. For cleaning this, dip the beads in warm water overnight. Scrub them thoroughly using a plastic brush in the morning. Keep a dedicated brush for the purpose of cleaning the beads. After cleaning properly wash the beads with normal water and then let them dry well. Apply olive/sandalwood oil on the dried beads using a brush after which the beads should be purified by offering incense, sandalwood paste and mantra's. Whenever the bead seem to be dry, apply oil on it so that it does not develop cracks and break.

Thanks for suggestion about how to clean the rudraksha beds.
Thanks for the Comments Saurabh and Valliappan. I prefer to use sandel wood oil as it gives a nice smell to the beads.
I like all and it is very essential to the beholder.
I did not know that olive oil is used on Rudraksha. I use ghee on Rudraksha and sandel wood oil. Some people even use Keo-Karpin Oil.
